The 12th session of the BioTalks will take place on April 26th, 2016, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Pandolabs in Park City, UT. This opens the Utah Chapter of the BioTalks series, and will focus on Clinical Trial Design and Management for Small Budget Clinical Studies. Panelists include experts from Aspen Clinical Research, The University of Utah, and Pentara Corporation. Free registration is now open.
The BioTalks are panel discussions organized and sponsored by ClinCapture, leading electronic data capture software provider. With chapters in Silicon Valley, CA and Park City, UT, the BioTalks is the premier event for pharmaceutical and medical device professionals to build their knowledge and expertise. Since its launch, the BioTalks has gathered over 1,000 clinical trials professionals and has featured over 50 panelists from leading life science companies including Roche, Abbott, Santen Pharmaceutical, Elan Pharmaceuticals and Johnson & Johnson.
This event includes a networking session with food and drinks, followed by an insightful panel discussion. For this opening, panelists will share their best practices how to plan, run and manage clinical trials successfully with small budgets.
The number of clinical trials has been increasing steadily from 83,000 in 2010 to 210,000 in March 2016, while the R&D spending for clinical trials has not grown as rapidly. Combined with a stricter regulatory environment, there is tremendous pressure to run faster clinical trials with higher data quality, and lower budget. To meet this difficult challenge, there are several factors to consider when embarking on a small budget clinical trial: Which process are you following to select your sites? How much effort do you need to invest upfront in the design of your clinical trial? Why are clinical data standards important? How do you ensure compliance while controlling costs?
