WAYLAND, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Candela Corporation (NASDAQ:CLZR) today reported results for the second fiscal quarter ended December 29, 2007. Revenues of $36.1 million in the second quarter decreased 3.5 percent from $37.4 million in the comparable prior-year period. The Company reported a net loss of $4.6 million, or $0.20 per share, for the second fiscal quarter versus net income of $1.0 million, or $0.04 per share, in the corresponding period last year. Second fiscal quarter 2008 results include a $2.5 million pre-tax non-cash charge for the write-off of the Company’s holdings of OccuLogix, Inc. The Company obtained its shares of OccuLogix as consideration for its minority ownership interest in privately-held SOLX, Inc. which OccuLogix acquired in August 2006.
