California Institute for Regenerative Medicine Focuses $18M to Train a Workforce

San Francisco Business Times -- One thing is for sure about stem cell research: It’s not the engine driving California’s economy. Someday, however, it could be. With that in mind, CIRM is focusing $18 million on training today’s college students for careers in regenerative medicine and related health sciences. The awards will provide money for candidates for certificate, undergraduate and master’s degree programs at public and private California colleges to take on internships and other training work at research-intensive institutions.
