Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (JOBS) Reports Higher Quarterly Earnings

MarketWatch -- Bristol-Myers Squibb /quotes/comstock/13*!bmy/quotes/nls/bmy (BMY 20.37, +0.08, +0.39%) said early Thursday that its second-quarter earnings were $983 million, or 49 cents a share, up from $764 million, or 38 cents a share, for the 2008 quarter. Excluding various items, the drugmaker would have posted adjusted earnings of 56 cents a share, versus 43 cents a share. Revenue for the quarter rose 3% to $5.38 billion. According to a poll by FactSet Research, Bristol-Myers was pegged at posting earnings of 47 cents a share, on revenue of $5.29 billion.
