People with mutations that raise their risk of breast and ovarian cancer do not seem to have a higher risk of colon cancer, U.S. and Israeli researchers reported on Tuesday. They found that people with mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes -- named for breast cancer -- were not any more likely to develop colorectal cancer than the average person.
