Biosense Webster, Inc. to Emphasize Commitment to Electrophysiologists and Product Innovation at Heart Rhythm 2007

DIAMOND BAR, Calif., May 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Biosense Webster, Inc., a worldwide leader in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, will highlight its commitment to the practice of electrophysiology at Heart Rhythm 2007, the Heart Rhythm Society's 28th Annual Scientific Sessions. It will also feature new products designed specifically for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. The conference will be held May 9-12 in Denver.

Key product highlights from Biosense Webster at Heart Rhythm 2007 include: -- The new CartoSound(TM) Module provides the first capability of side-by- side display of intracardiac echogram (ICE.) This unique systems will help electrophysiologists improve their ability to diagnose and treat cardiac arrhythmias. The CartoSound(TM) Module receives ICE images from the Siemens Acuson Sequoia(TM) and Cypress(TM) Ultrasound Systems. -- The NaviStar(R) ThermoCool(R) Catheter is the first automated ablation system supporting an open-loop irrigated catheter. This catheter is available for the treatment of adults with Ventricular Tachycardia (VT) that arise following a heart attack. The NaviStar(R) ThermoCool(R) Catheter is the first catheter cleared for marketing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat both mappable and unmappable VTs. -- The new bi-directional EZ Steer(TM) Catheter line, which recently received approval from the FDA for the navigation version of the catheter to be used with the Carto(R) XP System. All benefits of the bi-directional catheter control are now available with the use of the Carto XP System. -- The new Carto(R) Ready campaign which educates physicians about the Carto(R) XP System interfaces and integration with product lines of a number of companies with various leadership positions in the EP equipment market. Interfacing and integration provide electrophysiologists with the products and services they need in the EP lab. -- The new 8 mm tip NaviStar(R) RMT DS Catheter for radiofrequency (RF) ablation provides doctors with another product that can be used with the Niobe(R) Magnetic Navigation System designed by Stereotaxis, Inc. The 8 mm Dual Sensor Catheter recently won marketing approval for Atrial Flutter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and will debut at this year's HRS meeting.
