PLANEGG, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Within the last year Biomax Informatics has established the knowledge integration platform in a research project to develop a new generation of healthcare tools for predictive, personalized medicine. The Synergy-COPD project, funded by the European "Framework Programme 7", will generate a simulation environment and clinical decision support system enabling systems medicine. Though generally applicable, the tools created will be validated using data from patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The project's goal is to improve patient care and healthcare outcomes, reduce errors and increase efficiency.
