Specialty clinical trials services and technology provider BioClinica, Inc. said Tuesday that it will open a site in Research Triangle Park, N.C., as the firm expands its efforts to reach both study sponsors and Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) with whom it has strategic partnerships. A company spokeswoman told BioSpace said the new office has room for at least 40 employees, with the possibility for expansion.
“As of today, we have about 80 job openings company-wide across all of our locations, Jim Dorsey, vice president of global marketing, BioClinica.
“Hiring in the RTP area has been very strong for us and we’re looking to make additional new hires where the talent pool is and to staff this new location.”
“Because we go after the best available talent, we try to keep flexible as to where new hires will be located,” said Dorsey.
“As of today we’re looking for experienced people from a variety of backgrounds to fill positions throughout BioClinica in areas such as: clinical trial operations; eClinical technology; software development; clinical programming; clinical supply chain; IT; clinical data management; project management; technical support services; training and other areas to fill out our growing ranks.”
“I can confirm that there will be at least 40 new employees in the space and I’m double checking internally about what capacity the jobs will be in,” Corinthea Harris, a spokeswoman for BioClinica told BioSpace.
BioClinica has more than 1,300 employees working in a network of offices in the United States, Europe and Asia. Its clients include 400 pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and device organizations, including all of the top 20, through a network of offices worldwide.
BioClinica said several home-based employees, many with the company since the early 2000’s, will now move into the new RTP office. The new site is designed to accommodate 40 employees but could potentially hold more at the company grows, with specific units such as R&D soon to be revealed.
The Newtown, Pa.-based company said it will be able to offer its entire eClinical product line from the site, which will be located at 4021 Stirrup Creek Drive in Durham. That particular suite includes popular tech including Microsoft Office-Smart OnPoint CTMS; Express EDC; Trident IRT; predictive clinical supply Optimizer; and Compass, a risk-based monitoring program.
“This strengthens our commitment in RTP as well as the greater Southern U.S.,” BioClinica CEO John Hubbard said in a statement, adding that BioClinica serves “a dozen customers within the region, including a growing number of CROs” that use its technology and support services to provide enhanced offerings to study sponsors. “The new quarters put us within arm’s reach of our customers.”
