TCTMD -- The past few years have seen incremental improvement in treatment and outcomes for patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Meanwhile, use of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been extended to more complex cases while yielding fewer complications. These are some of the trends that emerged from analyses of 2 national cardiovascular registries reported in the July 20, 2010, issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
