Rothwell, Wolf Elected to Codexis, Inc. Board

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Codexis, Inc., a leading developer of clean technology manufacturing processes, today announced two new directors have been named to the company's Board of Directors. Joining the Board are Bill Rothwell, Ph.D., Vice President of Innovation and Chemicals Technology, Shell Global Solutions, a unit of Royal Dutch Shell plc and Dennis Wolf, Executive Vice President and CFO, MySQL, a leading open source database company.

Dr. Rothwell is based in Houston and has global responsibility for identifying and leveraging innovation and chemical technology across the Shell Group, including all biodomain research. He sits on both the Shell Global Solutions and Shell Chemicals Leadership Teams. He has a strong technical background combined with extensive experience in strategy and business roles. He joined Shell in 1980 with a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has undergraduate degrees in mathematics and chemistry from Michigan State University.

In his first decade at Shell, Dr. Rothwell worked as a research manager and research chemist at the Westhollow Technology Centre in Houston. In 1990 he moved to Shell's offices in Houston and over the next seven years worked in a number of strategic planning and business assignments. In 1998 he relocated to London and served as Head of Strategy, Planning and Ventures for Shell Chemicals. In 2002, he was appointed to the position of General Manager of Shell Chemicals global Ethylene Oxide/Glycols business, a position he held until his current appointment earlier this year.

Mr. Wolf has broad executive financial management experience in technology companies at the COO, CFO and Co-CEO level. He currently serves as Executive Vice President and CFO at MySQL, AB, Cupertino, CA. The company produces a leading open source database used by customers to power high volume websites and other business-critical functions. Mr. Wolf is responsible for managing the company's finance operations. Previously, he held financial management positions for public high technology companies including Omnicell, Inc., Credence Systems, Centigram, Apple Computer and Sun Microsystems.

Mr. Wolf holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the University of Denver. He currently serves on the board of Quantum and has been a board member and chair of the audit committee for Nasdaq-listed companies including Komag, Vitria Technology and Registry Magic.
