WAYNE, Pa., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Orthopedics This Week, the most widely read publication in the orthopedics medical and business community today announced the winners of its 2010 Best Spine Technologies of the Year Award. The annual awards honor the inventors and engineers for extraordinary innovation, hard work and effectiveness at solving clinical problems for patients with spine disease.

Winners were recognized at a gala awards banquet held in Orlando, Florida on October 4, 2010. Nearly 44 entries were submitted representing several hundred inventors and engineers. The award winners were selected by a blue ribbon panel of judges selected from the leading orthopedic hospitals and institutions in the United States on the basis of their innovation and clinical relevance.

“Innovation is, without doubt, the most important medical and economic force in the world today,” said Orthopedics This Week publisher and CEO, Robin Young. “The Spine Technology Awards deliver well deserved pats on the back to the people that do the hard work of creating improved care for spine patients.
