Founder and CEO of Aroma Technology, Simon Vicari, developed NEXTToMe after having traveled numerous times for business and leisure and wondering whether there would be health and safety risks for him and his family after being in different environments. Vicari believed that including multiple sensors in a single device was fundamental to giving consumers a better understanding of the different body and environment measurement parameters while on the go.

“Aroma Technology aims to establish a link between health and sectors such as education and the economy, fueling a new model of investment opportunities in workers’ health. A healthy population is the backbone of a sustainable economy, and we’re working alongside Yale University on a project aimed to reduce smoking in mothers,” says Vicari. “Creating the NEXTToMe wearable device was a way to promote and improve a healthy well-being and lifestyle for everyone. The data collected will be made available through the NEXTToMe app available for all users. This data will become the basis of a very effective lifestyle choices for the community and urban management and planning of the city.”

The ultimate goal of the NEXTToMe device is to improve and promote healthy well-being, personal comfort and safety, and change the way pollution and other environmental factors are studied and tracked throughout everyday life. Designed with everyday use in mind, NEXTToMe can be fitted in stylish genuine eco-processed leather handmade in Italy or in athletic rubber wristbands. It can also be attached to keychains, wrist straps, around your neck or pinned to your clothes.

The NEXTToMe app serves as the hub for receiving information gathered by the intuitive device. Not only does it store data detected from the device when prompted, the app also serves as a social network platform. Headed to work or bringing your kids to school and want to take the fastest route? Jog often and want to run the route with the best air quality? Check the app for up-to-date information contributed by your local NEXTToMe network.

Powered by a 3.7V 325mAh battery, the NEXTToMe’s customized firmware allows for a full month of battery life, in addition to two weeks in “operational mode,” defined as intervals of fifteen minutes with three sensors working simultaneously. The device is very lightweight coming in at 26grams and is designed with on-the-go travel in mind measuring in at 1.8in in length and height and 0.35in in width. The device can also be attached to any wall or surface if users want to measure useful data, such as CO levels, temperature and humidity, in the home or office. The device can also measure useful data for the home or office in order to contribute to potentially saving energy and also determining the quality of food products.
