Merge eMed Releases FUSION RIS(TM) And RIS/PACS Version 3.0

MILWAUKEE, Nov. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Merge eMed , a Merge Healthcare company and leader in medical imaging software and services, today announced the release of FUSION RIS and RIS/PACS Version 3.0. Utilizing a strong history of customer-centric development, this new release continues to enhance business and clinical workflow in both FUSION RIS and FUSION RIS/PACS. The new enhancements in scheduling, dictation, exam routing, and RIS/PACS hanging protocol configuration produce RIS-driven hanging protocols that capture the power of RIS information to streamline the presentation of images in the PACS, which can be accessed throughout the enterprise from a single, unified end-user desktop application.

Merge eMed’s FUSION RIS is a comprehensive, easy-to-use, HIPAA-supportive Radiology Information System (RIS) designed with the help of clients to replicate radiology workflow “best practices” within Imaging Centers or Radiology Departments.

FUSION RIS allows clients to realize substantial improvements in productivity by integrating information and automating traditional manual or paper methods related to scheduling, patient registration and tracking, document management, dictation, report turnaround, billing, claims processing, and other mission-critical operational functions in a practice. This automation reduces administrative workload, while increasing patient, referring physician and employee satisfaction. Additionally, the practice can uncover ways to reduce bottlenecks, maximize profits and increase revenue through practice analysis tools.

The RIS captures a goldmine of data, and that raw data can be easily turned into meaningful, decision-making information via the Practice Analysis Module(TM), enabling users to proactively react to changing business conditions. Utilizing this powerful tool, users can uncover practice-building opportunities and bottlenecks; analyze referral sources, modality utilization, procedure trends/profitability and radiologist productivity with simple-to-use reports and multi-dimensional, graphic views. Additionally, users can set up benchmarks to track and compare performance on select criteria (i.e., report turnaround time) against referring physician expectations, industry standards or competitors.

The Referring Practice Portal, an optional module is a referral-enhancing Web capability that allows real-time access to reports and their associated images from within FUSION RIS/PACS, or just reports from FUSION RIS. Additionally, it provides instant access to the Exam/Appointment Status, as well as offering an Emergency/Referral Access for hospital and clinic referrals in emergency situations. The portal has HIPAA supportive security and auditing features, and can be customized with a facility’s brand identity and service information.

“The FUSION RIS and RIS/PACS solutions are designed specifically to help our customers achieve profitable business growth through integrated and efficient business and clinical workflow,” says David Noshay, president of Merge eMed. “I am pleased that we can deliver this newest upgrade, which provides our customers with so many features that were created as a result of their innovative suggestions.”

The FUSION line of workflow products is proven deployed solutions with more than 300 installations, supported by Merge eMed’s two decades of integration expertise.

Merge eMed will demonstrate FUSION RIS and RIS/PACS 3.0, in addition to the FUSION MATRIX PACS and clinical applications, at the Radiological Society of North America in the Merge eMed booth, #1918.
