San Francisco Business Times -- The director of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, George Miller, said Tuesday he will step down from the post, the Contra Costa Times reports.
Miller will also step down as president of Lawrence Livermore National Security, the group that manages the lab for the Department of Energy.
Miller began leading the lab in 2006 and guided it through the transition from University of California management to its current management team that includes UC along with URS Corp. (NYSE: URS), Bechtel Corp. and Babcock & Wilcox.
Overall Miller has been involved with Livermore lab over a four-decade-long career.
