WASHINGTON, Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- John Glaser, chief information officer of Partners Healthcare and one of the industry’s leading authorities on health technology and innovation, is joining the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions as a senior advisor to the Center’s Care Delivery Innovation efforts, Deloitte & Touche USA LLP announced today.
Glaser will advise the Center for Health Solutions and provide insight to Deloitte clients on a range of subject areas, including transformation of care delivery through health information technology, large-scale health information technology project management, clinical information systems, and other areas of innovation relevant to health providers. Glaser also will advise the Center on areas of convergence across provider, health plans and life science companies, such as regional connectivity efforts, personalized medicine and telemedicine.
“John Glaser’s experience and passion will be invaluable as the Center works to support the adoption of innovative tools to improve the quality of health care in America,” said Tommy G. Thompson, the independent chairman of the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions. “Our health system is in the dark ages when it comes to implementing information technology in hospitals and doctors offices to protect the health of patients. We can -- and must -- do better.”
“I am pleased to join the Center for Health Solutions to work with Deloitte and its clients on innovative health care delivery systems,” Glaser said. “The Center is committed to working with all health care stakeholders -- hospitals, doctors, health plans, governments, employers and patients -- to meet the challenges of effectively adopting and implementing information technology systems.”
The Deloitte Center for Health Solutions was created in 2005 to develop answers to the most difficult challenges facing health care by bringing all sides together to find common ground solutions to shared problems. The Center is examining what work works in health care and why, and is developing innovative ideas to make health care more efficient, more affordable and more accessible -- with one of the major areas of study being health information technology.
