Endovascular Institute Release: First Cardiovascular Techniques Summit To Focus On Providing Interventional Training To Cardiology And Surgery Fellows And Physicians

FREDERICK, Md., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Drs. Sheldon Goldberg, Daniel McCormick, William Kussmaul, and Daniel Dadourian -- internationally recognized for their leadership in the field of interventional cardiology -- will co-chair the first annual Cardiovascular Techniques Summit: a Global Interventional Course for Fellows to be held in Philadelphia, PA from December 1-2. This Continuing Medical Education program is designed to be a valuable adjunct in building an interventional and endovascular practice for physicians, fellows, and residents and is sponsored by the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and the Cardiovascular Institute of Philadelphia.

The Cardiovascular Techniques Summit (CTS) will emphasize fundamental principles at the foundation of practicing interventional medicine. A renowned faculty will serve as featured guest operators and discussants. At the end of this program, attendees will have an in depth knowledge of indications, techniques, and expected outcomes for interventional cardiac, carotid, and endovascular procedures.

The CTS will provide attendees a multifaceted approach for education in the field of cardiac and vascular intervention. Through live case demonstrations, sophisticated simulation, and focused state-of-the-art reviews, critical topics will be addressed in this rapidly evolving area. There will be a strong emphasis on technical performance as well as evidence- based medicine. A broad spectrum of procedures will be featured including coronary, carotid, renal, and peripheral intervention, as well as PFO/ASD closure and left atrial exclusion.

Unique to the CTS, the role of medical simulation training will be stressed throughout the program with simulation cases designed specifically for the interventional physician and endovascular surgeons. Physicians can sign up in advance online at http://www.cardiovascular-techniques.com to secure their training time slot and will be granted CME credit for learning on the simulator.

It is anticipated that this year’s Cardiovascular Techniques Summit will attract 100-200 interventional fellows, residents, and practicing physicians.
