A 14th company has signed on to the Center for Connected Medicine. The Pittsburgh-based health care executive briefing center said Karl Storz Endoscopy-America Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of a Germany medical device manufacturer, has become a strategic partner. Founding partners of the Center for Connected Medicine include UPMC, General Electric, IBM, Alcatel Lucent and Verizon. "At the center, we believe that medical devices play a key role in defining the transformation of health care delivery," said Andrew Watson, MD, medical director for the Center for Connected Medicine, in a prepared statement.
