Delmarva Foundation Appoints New Chief Quality Officer

EASTON, Md., July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The Delmarva Foundation, a national not-for-profit organization committed to improving the quality of healthcare, today announced the appointment of Dr. Margaret M. Toth as the new Chief Quality Officer. The Chief Quality Officer (CQO) will work on designing and implementing innovative approaches to knowledge transfer, patient safety and organizational culture in driving transformational change. In her role as the CQO, Dr. Toth will build on the expertise and commitment of Delmarva associates as they broaden the organization's reach and impact through new training programs, innovative collaborative and best practice sharing initiatives and practical strategies for effective application of information technology in healthcare.

Dr. Toth has spent the last three years as the Medical Director at Ohio KePRO, Ohio's Medicare Quality Improvement Organization, where among other tasks she researched, planned and implemented a design to improve acute care services in hospitals. As a founding member of the Ohio Patient Safety Discussion Forum and Trustee of the Ohio Patient Safety Institute, Dr. Toth played an instrumental role in fostering cooperative statewide safety initiatives. Prior to her work at Ohio KePRO, Dr. Toth worked as a senior clinical instructor in internal medicine for the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and practiced internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Toth earned her Medical Degree from Yale University School of Medicine and she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Case Western Reserve University with a bachelor of arts in Medical Anthropology.
