PHOENIX, Feb. 13, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CIGNA HealthCare announced today the appointment of Kurt A. Weimer as president and general manager of CIGNA HealthCare of Arizona, responsible for middle market strategy, growth and client service. An experienced professional, Weimer brings in-depth knowledge of Arizona and extensive management experience to this position. He will report to Jeff Terrill, regional vice president for CIGNA HealthCare's Western region that includes California, Nevada and Arizona.

Weimer attended college in Arizona and began his career in Phoenix, giving him first-hand knowledge of the state. His background includes more than 24 years of sales, operations, and leadership positions throughout the country with CIGNA. In these roles, Weimer improved operational efficiency, strengthened service levels and enhanced CIGNA's visibility in the market, growing new and existing business.
Weimer is a dedicated volunteer for the March of Dimes, serving on the Board of Directors of Greater New York chapter. He has also been active in March of Dimes efforts in other communities throughout his career. He holds a bachelor's degree from Northern Arizona University.
