OVERLAND PARK, Kan., and Clayton, Mo., Nov. 4, 2004 /PRNewswire/ -- CIGNA HealthCare announced today the appointment of Frank Monahan as general manager of its operations in Kansas and Missouri. Monahan is a seasoned executive with 15 years of sales and marketing experience in the health care industry. He will be based in St. Louis.

In his new position, Monahan will be responsible for new sales and account management in the Kansas and Missouri markets and will oversee a sales team of more than 30 professionals. He will also be responsible for fostering and deepening relationships with employers, providers, brokers and consultants in the state. A Pennsylvania native, Monahan earned his bachelor’s degree from La Salle University in Philadelphia. Monahan most recently served as vice president and general manager of large group sales for Premera Corporation. Prior to joining Premera Corporation, Monahan was vice president of sales, marketing and field operations for Capital Blue Cross. In addition, he held various sales and marketing positions at Aetna.
