The CEO of Bedford company BiOM, which develops bionic prosthetic devices, said the firm could potentially go public, but not before 2016.
Charles Carignan, the CEO of the company that was founded by MIT Media Lab star Hugh Herr, said the company might explore an IPO. BiOM only has one product, which costs $40,000: an ankle-foot device that emulates muscle function, uses bionic propulsion and allows a user to walk with a normal gait.
