Health IT company developing texting-based solution for hospital patients
ST. LOUIS – May 26, 2015 – BioGenerator, an evergreen investor that creates, grows and invests in promising companies and entrepreneurs, has made a second investment in HealthyMe. The pre-seed investment will help the health IT company continue to refine their SMS texting-based solution to reduce 30-day readmission rates for hospital patients.
HealthyMe’s patient-centered 30-day transition care SMS texting program is specifically designed to aid patients with chronic disease. During the 30 days following discharge from the hospital, text messages provide information, education and reminders triggering behavior modification resulting in reduced readmission rates.
“HealthyMe continues to make progress on their patient engagement platform and partnerships with hospital systems and insurance companies,” said Eric Gulve, president of BioGenerator. “The company’s continued advancement of their technology and the strong outlook for the health IT market encouraged us to make this second investment.”
“We are grateful to BioGenerator for their on-going support of our commercialization process,” said Mary Louise Helbig, CEO of HealthyMe. “It has enabled us to continue with product development plans expanding our portfolio of services and our national sales efforts, both initiatives are critical to our long-term success.”
Other investors include Missouri Technology Corporation, Capital Innovators and private investors.
BioGenerator’s portfolio includes four health IT companies: MedSocket, HealthyMe, EDIS Solutions and Graematter.
