Norwich, UK: Artemis CCD Limited, a leading manufacturer of cooled CCD cameras for low-light imaging applications, is delighted to announce the latest addition to its gold standard range of scientific cooled CCD cameras. The new 11 mega pixel CCD camera known as the LF110 plus builds on the success of the current LF110 and again features the excellent 35mm KAI-11002 CCD Sensor.
The new camera includes both low speed and high speed Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs) providing a wide range of image acquisition speeds while maintaining maximum image integrity. A full-frame image of 4008 x 2672 pixels can be acquired at speeds of 2MPixels/s for the highest quality images all the way up to 12MPixels/s in preview mode. Low image noise remained a key pre-requisite for the new design and the LF110 plus achieves this by matching the 11 electron noise performance of the original LF110 yet images are transferred to the PC in a significantly faster time.
Another design target was an improvement to the CCD cooling efficiency which has also been comfortably achieved. The combination of a new thermoelectric cooler with improved air flow management provides a temperature delta in excess of -40°C without the assistance of liquid cooling
Steve Chambers, Artemis CCD’s CEO said: “The LF110 plus is a great example of our continuous product improvement programme in action. Our customers loved the low noise performance of the original LF110 and by reducing the time required to acquire the highest quality image the new camera will appeal to a wider range of scientific customers. The new LF110 plus provides the same high performance imaging downloaded in a fraction of the time.”.
