ST. LOUIS, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Amerinet Inc. announces that effective October 1, 2005, Wayne A. Thompson, president, Health Systems Integration (HSI), will be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities in health care. Thompson joined the organization in June 2004, following the acquisition of the group purchasing assets of Joint Purchasing Corporation (JPC) by Amerinet owner, Vector. Thompson was appointed to the newly created position as part of an overall organizational restructuring that moved Robert “Bud” Bowen to CEO, and Todd C. Ebert, to president, operations.
“With the acquisition of JPC’s group purchasing assets, it was of great value to us to have Wayne join the organization to assist in the assimilation of the JPC businesses and philosophies into the Amerinet organization. HSI, under Wayne’s leadership, was central to the now completed process of assimilating these practices into Amerinet culture and operations,” said Amerinet CEO, Bud Bowen. “With Wayne’s departure, the HSI structure will be eliminated as its principles and operations are now integrated throughout Amerinet and its shareholders.
“Additionally, Wayne brought with him extensive experience in the health care supply chain business from his lengthy career at Baxter Healthcare, his role as president and COO of Konica Medical Imaging, and most recently, as president and CEO of JPC. At Amerinet’s request, Wayne agreed to commit at least one year to work with Amerinet in a variety of leadership responsibilities, including the establishment of the new HSI initiative. We realized Wayne’s talents and goals would likely take him beyond what Amerinet could offer long term, but we were most appreciative of his willingness to guide us in establishing this valuable new direction for Amerinet. The 15 months that Wayne has given to Amerinet have been invaluable,” Bowen added.
“I have known Amerinet and its shareholders for many years. To have had an opportunity to work with this organization as a member of its senior management team has been truly rewarding,” stated Thompson.
“As I reflect on this experience, I am reminded why the board of JPC decided to align with Amerinet in the first place. It was all about results and integrity. The bottom line value Amerinet delivers to its members and the principles and values they hold sacred, will ensure continued success in the future. These are the assurances our providers of care need. To have contributed in some small way has been an honor for me,” he added.
Amerinet Chairman, Victor Samolovitch of Amerinet Central stated, “Amerinet is grateful to Wayne for his contribution to increasing the organization’s ability to serve the needs of current and future integrated health system members. We are optimistic that we will continue to build on the JPC acquisition and continue to enhance the principles of the HSI initiative. We wish Wayne the very best of success in his future endeavors and look forward to working with him in the future in whatever health care opportunity he chooses to pursue. Wayne’s contribution to Amerinet has made us a better company.”
