PRINCETON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Representatives of CUH2A architects, engineers and planners, including Scott Butler, PE, president, Warren Hendrickson, AIA principal, and Bettyjane Watkins LEED® associate, attended the opening of The Institute for Genomic Biology (IGB) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; winner of the Illinois Capital Development Board’s 2007 Chairman’s Award for Programmatic Achievement. The design of the new Institute for Genomic Biology (IGB) blends the traditional with the modern: the building reflects the Georgian heritage of the campus, while celebrating the cutting-edge scientific discovery it is designed to foster. The 186,000 square-foot building accommodates scientists organized into collaborative teams working within nine areas of research, including the BP Energy Biosciences Institute, a public/private partnership dedicated to the development of alternative fuels.
