PATHFAST(R) Rapid Whole Blood Immunoassay Analyzer from Polymedco

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Polymedco, Inc. is pleased to announce the introduction of the PATHFAST immunoassay analyzer, manufactured by Mitsubishi Chemical Medience Corporation, Tokyo, Japan. The PATHFAST rapid point of care system utilizes a chemiluminescent technology combined with a unique separation method using magnetic particles that allows this system to report highly accurate results that compare to large platform instruments. The PATHFAST system employs individual cartridge-based technology utilizing a whole blood sample.

The PATHFAST system can handle six samples in batch or random access mode and report these six results in 17 minutes. The PATHFAST analyzer, NTproBNP, D-Dimer and hsCRP assays have recently been 510(k) cleared by the FDA. Polymedco expects to have ten additional assays cleared shortly. The initial menu will be in the cardiac, inflammatory, and fertility area.

The PATHFAST system is a small, compact platform, which includes a computer, LCD touch screen and printer and measures W14.7" x D22.4" x H20.0". This self contained unit can easily fit on any laboratory bench. Its user friendly operation allows the technician to simply add blood to the cartridges, place them on the system and press the start button. Results will be stored, printed, and downloaded into the LIS system. This sensitive technology will allow the laboratory to report NTproBNP results from 15-30,000 pg/mL, D-Dimer results from 0.005 - 5 ug/mL FEU, and hsCRP results from 0.05 - 30 mg/L.

Polymedco, Inc. is a leading manufacturing, marketing and sales company that specializes in bringing innovative equipment and diagnostic kits to the medical market. PATHFAST is a registered mark of Mitsubishi Chemical Medience Corporation, Tokyo, Japan.
