Newberg-based A-dec Inc. has been awarded a $39.5 million contract to supply dental equipment to the U.S. Navy.

The five-year contract from the Naval Medical Logistics Command of Fort Detrick, Md., calls for A-dec to provide dental delivery systems for the Navy's medical treatment facilities. Delivery systems hold the handheld tools used in dentistry, such as sprayers and suction devices.

The work is to be performed both in and outside the continental U.S., which could include the Naval fleet and hospital ships.
