ConvaTec Launches Versiva(R) XC(R) Campaign and Best Practice Statement Transforming Wound Care with Hydrofiber(R) Technology

Backed up by extensive in vivo and in vitro data, the new campaign shows how healthcare professionals can "Expect More" with Versiva((R)) XC((R)) dressing. The only cover dressing to contain ConvaTec's proprietary Hydrofiber((R)) Technology, Versiva((R)) XC((R)) dressing transforms wounds through its unique gelling action. When developing the Best Practice Statement, the authors conducted an extensive literature review and a retrospective evaluation of 50 patients with wounds of various types that were managed using Versiva((R)) XC((R)) dressing. In two multicenter clinical studies, Versiva((R)) XC((R)) dressing demonstrated clinical efficacy within protocols of care managing chronic wounds such as venous leg ulcers(4) and pressure ulcers.(6) In the study in patients with venous leg ulcers, there was a significant reduction (p<0.001) in mean wound area, by 50 percent, in four weeks from baseline.(4)(b)
In a retrospective analysis using data from two previous clinical trials, healing rates at 4 weeks were found to be powerful predictors of complete wound healing at 12 weeks.(7)
