November 21, 2006 -- Pfizer settled a patent dispute with Teva over a cancer medication and an antibiotic for $70 million; diabetes drug Byetta, from Lilly and Amylin won European approval; Immtech was granted Orphan Drug designation for a pneumonia drug; Prana raised $6 million to fund a Phase IIa trial of an Alzheimer’s drug; Repligen won Orphan Drug designation for RG1068, a synthetic human secretin; and Dyax completed the double-blind portion of its Phase III trial of DX-88, a treatment for hereditary angioedema.
