Abbott Under Fire From Protestors

Price increase of AIDS drug draws criticism from patients and states... Abbott Laboratories Inc.'s (ABT) decision to raise the price of its AIDS drug, Norvir, by about 400 percent drew fire from patients and activists Friday. Several dozen protesters, including AIDS advocates, patients, and senior citizens upset over the high prices of Abbott drugs, converged on the Company’s headquarters where the shareholders were attending the annual meeting. At least one AIDS organization got into the meeting with the help of a socially responsible shareholder group.
