18-Year Old Launches Bioplastics Startup Firm

An 18-year-old graduate of the Massachusetts Academy of Math & Science in Worcester has started a Kickstarter campaign to launch a business to market a biodegradable plastic replacement he discovered in his parent’s kitchen in Boylston.

Evan Solomonides, a freshman at Cornell University who took part in the national BioGENEius Challenge last June, says he’s working with Cornell’s McGovern Center to get his idea for the company off the ground, and that he’s “discussing this project with several different venture capital firms and incubators.”
