Vacuum Operated ReVac Safety Syringe Patent Filed on Behalf of Maxxon Joint Venture

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Maxxon, Inc. (“Maxxon”), a growing medical products designer, manufacturer, and distributor concentrating on innovative safety devices which will have a price advantage over many competitors in the medical products arena, is pleased to announce that a patent for its Vacuum Operated ReVac Safety Syringe has been filed.

The new patent for the vacuum operated safety syringe was filed on Sept. 21, 2005 by patent Attorney Richard Moseley. Maxxon, Inc. and Globe Medical Tech shall each share 50% of the new patent.

The new patent covers another area of breakthrough technology. The relatively smaller cross section of the plunger, as compared to the barrel, produces a greater corresponding vacuum force to retract the used needle into the barrel. The new invention may also apply to various syringe sizes, shapes and different clinical applications. The applications in the evaluation and design phase include Vacuum Operated Retractable IV Catheter and Butterfly set.

Ron Wheet, CEO of Maxxon, stated, “Our patent uses ‘FREE AIR’ as the catalyst for needle retraction and has many advantages over our competitors, who are currently using a steel spring as the force to pull the used needle into the barrel. Their design increases manufacturing complexity, has a higher defective rate and forces the cost to swell.”

“I believe the inherent advantages in the Vacuum Operated ReVac Safety Syringe will help the product garner attention, plus the low cost should allow market penetration in markets that other retractable safety syringes can’t touch,” added Andy Hu, CTO of Maxxon.

About Maxxon

Maxxon recently entered into a 50/50 Joint Venture, with Globe Med Tech, to produce and/or distribute several new safety medical products including its ReVac Safety Syringe, Auto Retractable Safety Scalpel with Permanent Lock, and the Auto Retractable Safety IV. Several of the patented products use vacuum force to operate automatic retractable technology. The company feels that it will be able to market itself as a growing medical products designer, manufacturer and distributor that creates innovative devices which it believes will have a price advantage over its competitors in the safety medical products arena.

Maxxon’s 3 cc safety syringe is designed as a single-handed, vacuum- operated safety syringe that retracts the used needle into the syringe after use. For more information on Maxxon, please go to http://www.maxxoninc.com .
