University of Louisville Teams Up With Company To Help Lung Cancer Diagnosis

One breath could be all it takes to determine if someone is in the early stages of lung cancer.

Doctors and researchers with University of Louisville and a company called Breath Diagnostics are pioneering the technology, which uses a microchip and a simple plastic bag.

Six or seven years ago, scientists at UofL’s Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department got an idea to test for tuberculosis in third world countries using breath compounds.
