U.S. Judge Levies Damages in AstraZeneca PLC (Jobs), Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (Jobs), Warrick Pharmaceuticals Drug Pricing Case

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A federal judge in Massachusetts ruled on Thursday that pharmaceutical companies AstraZeneca, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Schering-Plough Corp. subsidiary Warrick Pharmaceuticals falsely marked up U.S. drug prices at various times through 2003.The judge found that the three companies grossly inflated the prices of drugs, including chemotherapy agents, to the detriment of the U.S. government’s Medicare program for the elderly, insurance companies and individuals.
