Two Regional Health And Business Leaders Join C.H.E.F.'S Board Of Directors

SEATTLE, April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Comprehensive Health Education Foundation (C.H.E.F.(R)) -- a Seattle-based nonprofit organization and a national leader in prevention education -- announced two new members who recently joined its Board of Directors.

James LoGerfo, M.D., M.P.H., is a professor of medicine and health services at the University of Washington and the director of the UW Health Promotion Research Center (UW-HPRC). His professional activities have focused on bridging the worlds of clinical medicine and public health, including access to care, quality assessment and improvement, and programs supporting healthy aging. After serving as medical director of Seattle's Harborview Medical Center for 11 years, Dr. LoGerfo assumed leadership of UW-HPRC in 1999, which is one of 28 Prevention Research Centers funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Jeff Philipps is the president and chief executive officer of Rosauers Supermarkets, headquartered in Spokane, Washington. He has an extensive business background in sales and management within the retail industry, and he brings his high level of business expertise to C.H.E.F. along with an impressive volunteer background. Mr. Philipps is currently on the boards of the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Boy Scouts of America and the City of Hope Positive Image Center. In addition, he is active in the American Diabetes Association and the United Way and is a past board member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Children's Hospital at Providence.
