ROSEMONT, Ill., /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, February 1, 2019 at 5PM at the Austin Convention Center, you are invited to join some of the world’s prominent musculoskeletal researchers to learn about new advances that aim to benefit you. For over 60 years, the Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) has met annually to present and discuss cutting edge musculoskeletal research findings, a critical avenue for advancing research and fostering the development of young scientists as well as new collaborations and opportunities. At the annual meeting, engineers, orthopaedic surgeons, biologists, veterinarians, and others in the field come together to work toward a common vision: a world without musculoskeletal limitations. Recently, it became more clear that something was missing from the meeting. A world without musculoskeletal limitations includes you, and we want you to be part of the discussion. ORS Open Door was established to make the latest musculoskeletal research accessible to everyone. The event is free and open to the public. The first Open Door event took place in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2018 and featured exciting talks about new techniques for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) repair of the knee and osteoarthritis management. This year’s Open Door in Austin, Texas will feature presentations about growing replacement tissues and using biomimicry to inspire the creation of medical devices, among others. We are very pleased to note that one this year’s featured presenters is a local professor and researcher, Dr. Elizabeth Cosgriff-Hernandez of the University of Texas-Austin. This is an excellent opportunity for you to directly interact with some of the best musculoskeletal researchers in the world and to learn more about recent advances in the field. While the event is free, registration is recommended. Please visit the Open Door website to make your free reservation and learn more. We look forward to seeing you in Austin! The ORS strives to advance musculoskeletal research worldwide.
