Rockville, Maryland, April 17, 2015 – Theranostics Health, Inc., a biotechnology company that develops and commercializes molecular diagnostic technologies to target therapies for optimal patient benefit, announced today a series of agreements to expand on current research and commercial collaborations with Avera Health, a leading research and health care delivery organization.
As part of a one-year evaluation program, Avera Health Plan will provide provisional coverage and reimbursement for the TheraLink® Assay for its employees and dependents that can benefit from its ability to identify what cancer therapy to prescribe based on the functional proteomic panel that measures the activation status of a number of drug targets and markers associated with commonly-prescribed therapies. At the same time, the Avera Cancer Institute is conducting multiple studies using the TheraLink® Assay in their personalized medicine research program to further characterize the clinical utility of the test and help inform extension of the coverage policy beyond the first year.
