The Core For Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging At The Baylor College of Medicine Implements Latest Release Of The Flywheel Research Platform

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Flywheel, the scientific research software development company, announces the implementation of its platform at Baylor University's Core for Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CAMRI). CAMRI is a state of the art resource for the Houston research community that makes possible advanced imaging studies of the function, physiology, and anatomy of animals and humans.

Data from all of CAMRI's MRI scanners will be uploaded to a central database, where the principal investigators who collected the data will be able to easily access it at any time and take advantage of the many useful features found in the Flywheel platform. More advanced tools, such as automatic data processing and creation of fMRI post-processing pipelines are also available to researchers at CAMRI.

"We are thrilled to be installing Flywheel at CAMRI," Imad Nijim, COO of Flywheel stated. "The center, under the leadership of Dr. Michael Beauchamp, will be a great partner for our growing young company."

With the Cayman 5 release, Flywheel has further developed its existing platform for researchers at CAMRI and other centers to manage their data with more comprehensive tools and with stronger computing capabilities. Users can now create sessions for their data easier, visualize the provenance of their data and analyses on the Flywheel platform, download complete analyses for their projects, and take advantage of the new command line interface.

Cayman 5 lays the groundwork for Flywheel making improvements to high-performance computing and overall data security in future platform releases.
