Leading oncologist/hematologist will discuss high-quality cancer care and new alternative payment models

CRANBURY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®), the leading peer-reviewed journal dedicated to issues in managed care, announces renowned medical oncologist and president of the American Medical Association Barbara L McAneny, MD, as the keynote speaker for the 2018 Patient-Centered Oncology Care® (PCOC®) meeting. The event will take place November 16th at Sofitel Philadelphia.

“Dr. McAneny brings an array of experience covering both oncology provider and managed care perspectives,” said Jeff Prescott, PharmD, senior vice president of managed markets. “During this meeting, attendees will gain insight on ways to successfully implement oncology payment models in their practice.”

McAneny is a board-certified medical oncologist/hematologist and the 173rd president of the American Medical Association. In her tenure, McAneny founded and serves as the current chair of the board of the National Cancer Care Alliance, an organization of independent practices collaborating to deliver high-quality, high-value cancer care and develop alternative payment models. During her keynote address, McAneny will delve into the future of oncology care. She will also discuss innovative payment models such as ASCO’s Patient-Centered Oncology Payment model.

PCOC® is a one-day educational and highly interactive event that addresses topics such as advancing value-based payment models, impact of consolidation and integration on oncology care, and pharmacy role in patient-care and management.
