Student Engineers Design Medical Diagnostic Device for China

Competition for Low-Cost Basic Biomedical Measurement August 28, 2007 – Students from Michigan State University have designed an inexpensive, basic medical diagnostic screening device for use in rural China. The device is intended to be freely available. The goal of the students’ project was to design something that would be robust, inexpensive to make and so easy to use that a non-professional, even if illiterate, could perform the tests.
