A proposed ballot initiative would funnel $200 million in state funds to embryonic stem cell research, adding Florida to the growing list of states supporting the controversial field.The initiative is the brainchild of Palm Beach County Commissioner Burt Aaronson, who founded the nonprofit Floridians for Stem Cell Research and Cures earlier this year after Gov. Bush publicly opposed embryonic stem cell research at a biotechnology conference.
