State Could Lead Stem Cell Work; Approval Of Prop. 71 May Bring Researchers, Investor Billions Flocking To California

CALIFORNIA IS poised to be a world leader in stem cell research if voters approve an ambitious proposal that would draw scientists to the state to jump-start research. Proposition 71, the stem cell research and cures initiative, asks residents to approve $3 billion in bond issues with the promise that the state’s investment will more than pay for itself as researchers and the dollars they bring flood into the state.
