St. Jude Medical Inc. will lay off up to 270 employees at its Sylmar heart-device manufacturing facility following a corporate restructuring.
The St. Paul, Minn. medical device company said it is eliminating the second shift at the Sylmar plant to optimize operations. That facility produces implantable defibrillators and pacemaker products.
