Everett, WA – February 12, 2010 – SNBL USA is hosting a session entitled “Interests and Limitations of New In Vivo Methodologies to Assess the Potential Cardiovascular Effects of NCEs and Biologics in Large Animal Models.” This presentation session will be held during the upcoming 49th Annual Society of Toxicology Meeting taking place in Salt Lake City, UT next month.

Frederick Sannajust, PharmD, PhD, Prof., SNBL USA Director of Safety Pharmacology, will provide an overview of the current trends in Preclinical Safety Pharmacology study designs supporting regulatory submissions (ie, pre-IND, IND).

Targeted topics will include:

• Comparison of the use of Standard/Stand alone Cardiovascular Safety Pharmacology studies versus Cardiovascular Safety Pharmacology studies integrated into General Toxicology studies in Nonhuman Primates (NHPs).

• Understanding the principles, interests, advantages and limitations in the use of new minimally invasive external jacketed telemetry systems in conscious, unrestrained NHPs.

• Strategic considerations for the integration of cardiovascular end-points into repeat-dose studies that will help Safety Pharmacology/Toxicology professionals to appropriately design and conduct their future preclinical packages.

A dedicated Question & Answer session will follow the presentation. Dr. Sannajust will be available to answer attendees’ questions. Join us in Room 155B at the Salt Palace Convention Center on Monday, March 8th at 1:00 pm for this interactive session. We look forward to seeing you in Salt Lake City.
