Healthcare giant Sanofi has received a multi-million pound investment boost at its manufacturing site in Cheshire, where a new asthma inhaler is to go into production. Drug developer SkyePharma has invested £5m to help build a facility for the manufacture of Flutiform, a treament which received European approval earlier this month. Production of Flutiform is due to begin at Sanofi’s facility in Holmes Chapel in September. Sanofi, which is listed in Paris and New York, employs 260 people at the site and said about 40 would initially be involved in the production, testing and supply of Flutiform.
