Siemens AG Reshuffles Board to Give Healthcare Unit More Freedom

Siemens AG (SIE) Chief Executive Officer Joe Kaeser reshuffled the management board of Europe’s biggest engineering company as he prepares to give its health-care operations greater internal independence.

The company appointed Bernd Montag to run the health-care unit while personnel chief and Chief Technology Officer Siegfried Russwurm will assume oversight of that business on Siemens’ board, the company said in an e-mailed statement today. Hermann Requardt, who had been leading the health-care business since 2008, will be replaced on the board by Janina Kugel who will take on Russwurm’s personnel responsibilities.
