Kevin Rudd says it is becoming possible to grow a human kidney from skin or blood cells and will on Tuesday announce a major new biotechnology fund aimed at bringing it about.
The Prime Minister plans to unveil a $250 million public-private investment fund designed to invest in Australian medical bio-technology and to take such breakthroughs made by Australian scientists, from the laboratory through to patients.
