Doctors may be making errors in determining drug levels in corpses, a forensic committee has warned. UK and US experts, in an article in New Scientist, said these errors could place innocent people in jail. They say the level of drugs in the blood can increase by 15-fold when someone dies because the toxins are released into the bloodstream. The team includes Derrick Pounder, Professor of Forensic Medicine at Dundee University.
