PMC Regional Hospital Brings to the Region MOSES 2.0, A Next-Generation Treatment for Enlarged Prostate and Kidney Stones

PMC Regional Hospital, a physician-owned hospital based in New Albany, Indiana, today announced that it is the first hospital in the Kentuckiana area to offer enlarged prostate and kidney stone procedures with the MOSES 2.0 Pulse 120H holmium laser.

NEW ALBANY, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- PMC Regional Hospital, a physician-owned hospital based in New Albany, Indiana, today announced that it is the first hospital in the Kentuckiana area to offer enlarged prostate and kidney stone procedures with the MOSES 2.0 Pulse 120H holmium laser. MOSES 2.0, developed by Lumenis Ltd., facilitates faster holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) and minimally invasive kidney stone removal (holmium laser lithotripsy).

HoLEP with MOSES 2.0 improves the efficiency of enlarged prostate procedures, offering 43% faster enucleation and 54% faster hemostasis.1 This results in shorter length of hospital stay, better surgical outcomes and higher patient satisfaction. Kidney stone removal with MOSES 2.0, meanwhile, offers 20% faster procedures and 33% faster stone ablation while minimizing incidents of ureteral stone migration into the kidney,2 improving quality of care and minimizing treatment burdens for patients.

“As a physician-owned hospital, we are passionate about taking a leading role by adopting technologies that elevate the quality of care,” said Dennis Medley, CEO. “The implementation of MOSES 2.0 will allow us to offer patients strong clinical outcomes with remarkable efficiency, benefiting patients, clinicians, and the hospital at large. We evaluated the top laser platforms on the market and determined that MOSES 2.0 was the only device able to meet all of our patients’ urological needs.”

“Enlarged prostate and kidney stones are two common problems that severely impact quality of life and present significant treatment burdens,” said Medley. “The MOSES 2.0 makes prostate and kidney stone surgeries faster and more streamlined, improving the care experience for both patients and practitioners.”
