(TAMPA, FLORIDA, USA, 08 May 2012) – ISPE will host an in-depth two-day conference that will bring together top industry leaders and regulators to examine global supply network challenges and solutions. The event, “Designing, Implementing and Maintaining Pharmaceutical Supply Networks,” will take place 6 – 7 June 2012 in Baltimore, Md. USA. “Managing safe, lean and effective global supply networks has specific challenges within the pharmaceutical industry. Manufacturing companies, their suppliers and regulatory authorities must all practice heightened vigilance to ensure product quality and patient safety,” said ISPE’s President and CEO Nancy Berg. “This conference will delve into supply network issues arising from globalization and provide a forum for industry and regulators to work together to candidly identify real-world challenges and solutions.”
The conference will kick off with an interactive plenary session, where high-level industry experts, such as pharmaceutical industry visionary and International Leadership Forum (ILF) member Peter Bigelow, SHA, LLC, Dr. Erin Mullen, Associate Vice President, Rx Response for the Pharmaceutical Researchers and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and Ron Guido, Vice President Brand Protection and Supply Chain Integrity, Johnson & Johnson, will present on top supply network concerns. Following the plenary session, delegates may choose education sessions from either of two different tracks:
• Track 1, Designing and Establishing Supply Networks, will discuss technology transfer, quality expectations and challenges, supplier integration and third-party assurance, and regulatory concerns.
• Track 2, Maintaining and Optimizing Supply Networks, will feature discussions on challenges and threats to supply networks, insuring reliable supplies, maintaining supply security, and global market case studies. The tracks will come together for several panel discussions and cross-track breakout sessions throughout the event.
